Sicilian-Style Penne


Penne Alla Siciliana

Ingredients:

1 bag penne pasta
1 jar A.G. Ferrari Foods Freschissima tomato sauce
1/4 pound ricotta salata, crumbled
1/4 cup capers
1/4 cup A.G. Ferrari Foods extra virgin olive oil
1/2 each chopped onion
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp salt

For the pasta:

5 quarts water
1 Tbsp salt

Region: Sicily



Instructions:

Bring water to boil with 1 Tbsp of salt. Saute onion with extra virgin olive oil for 1 to 2 minutes. Add capers, Freschissima tomato sauce, salt, red pepper flakes and oregano.Cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Boil Penne pasta for 8 to 10 minutes in salted boiling water. Drain pasta toss with the sauce and crumbled Ricotta Salata. Serve immediately.

Serve with white wine.

Serves 4.
