Back in 1857, Luigi Leone-then owner of a mom-and-pop
candy store in Alba-was at the center of a movement
that established Piemonte as the undisputed sweets
capital of Italy. Leone became famous for its delicately
flavored pastel colored candy drops, called pastilles,
which are still made the same way today. In 1880, Luigi
moved his candy shop to Torino, where he expanded the
business and the Leone name. He remained there, producing
some of Piemonte's most sought-after candies, until he died.
The company was bought by the Monero family in 1934, and,
decades later, the company is still synonymous with quality,
flavor and innovation. We are pleased to offer an assortment
of Leone's fine candies, including chocolate-covered hazelnuts,
candies flavored with honey, coffee, and mint, as well as the
confectioner's famed pastilles.
