Wild lavender honey from Sardinia.
This lavender honey comes from the southwest corner of Sardinia, where sheep outnumber people. The De Col Piras family harvests the honey in a nearby national park that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The lavendar that grows in this rocky landscape is difficult to harvest . Once every few years, the family is able to collect enough honey to give us a small allotment to sell at A.G. Ferrari Foods.
This thick, pale yellow honey is sweet and mild with delicate floral undertones. Terrific with sheep's milk cheese, as is the Sardinian tradition.
This hard-to-find honey is available in limited quantities.
