An artisanal Tuscan trio from the spectacular 2005-2006 harvest. Paul Ferrari has put together a sampler of three distinctive extra virgin olive oils from the region of Tuscany: Tenuta di Valgiano, Le Corti and A.G. Ferrari. All are made by small artisan producers, and Paul has personally visited each of the estates where the oil is harvested and crushed. Tenuta di Valgiano is a lightly fruity, beautifully balanced oil that's perfect drizzled over grilled vegetables, in pesto or as a finish for soups. Le Corti, an olive oil estate where Paul has assisted with the harvest, produces terrific oil with a characteristic Tuscan "grip" (a peppery aftertaste). A.G.
