Tuscany's "drunken cake" is enhanced with pieces of liqueur soaked pears for an intoxicating holiday centerpiece.
A specialty of Montevarchi's Pasticceria Bonci, this festive holiday cake is, like the ubiquitous Panettone, soft, moist and light-crumbed. However, the similarities come to a heady halt there; the Bonci brothers soak their fruit in Pear Williams liqueur and combine the heady fruit with dark chocolate drops for a seductively decadent dessert.
Packed by a hand in a striking white giftbox. Excellent served with homemade gelato or artisan chocolate. |
