An aromatic, full-flavored wine from Le Marche. When Julius Caesar returned as a victorious general from Gaul, he "crossed the Rubicon" to defeat Pompey and become Roman emperor. The Rubicon river on the Adriatic coast has since sunk underground, somewhere near the vineyard where this unique wine is grown. It is made from an almost extinct grape called Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. With deep ruby color and wonderul aromas of crushed roses, it is full-flavored and lively, but soft and smooth on the finish.
