Ingredients:

1 3/4 sticks unsalted butter (at room temperature)
scant cup of sugar
4 eggs (at room temperature)
1/2 cup ground, unpeeled almonds
1 1/3 cups Mulino Sobrino type 0 flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
12-15 fresh figs, quartered

Region: Sicily



Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Whip the butter and sugar until creamy.Add eggs one at a time. Then add almonds, vanilla and baking powder.With a wooden spoon, stir in the flour. Butter a 11x15-inch pan.Spread out dough (the dough will be very soft) up to about half aninch on the sides. Line baking dish with figs. Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
