Bruschetta
Summer Tuscan bread with tomatoes


Bruschetta

Ingredients:

1 loaf Italian bread
½ cup A.G. Ferrari Foods extra virgin olive oil
3-4 large fresh tomatoes (1lb approx)
2 sprigs of basil (leaves)
1 clove garlic (peeled)
¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
½ tsp salt

Region: Tuscany



Instructions:

Slice bread into ½ inch thick slices. Toast in a 400 degree oven,4 to 5 minutes per side. Rub toasts with garlic. Chop tomatoes and basil and season with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

Note: In winter, fresh tomatoes could be substituted with drained canned tomatoes (La Primavera)

Serves 4 to 6.
